Stair lift anyone?

Found this the other day and it made me laugh. I don't know if my nan would prefer this hunk to carry her up the stairs rather than her Stannah, he might have a nice arse but he's probably not as stable or reliable. The stair case is pretty narrow but the Stannah gets her up and down without bashing her elbows on the dado rail. Would you trust this naked man to watch your elderly loved ones? And at 89 I'm not sure if she'd even be that bothered about the juicy bum!

Warning

I’m writing todays post as a warning. A lot of people these days are opting to use special Rechargeable Batteries in place of the traditional disposable ones.
On paper this seems like an excellent decision, especially in these recession fuelled times but in reality there are many flaws with these kinds of brands. Namely the fact that, yes they are rechargeable and reusable but they actually have very short shelf lives if you are using them constantly. I have noticed that when I use these batteries I tend to use them full on throughout the day and then charge them through the night. Obvioulsy I am not naieve enough to think that this will not affect their lifespan but this is precisely my point. They are wrongly being marketed at professionals like myself who will use them and recharge them constantly. They should actually be aimed towards the common public and casual user.
I have noticed that the batteries tend to go dead after just several weeks and in some even more dangerous circumstances they have even started to leak or corrode. Damaging very expensive equipment and also putting me at risk. Read the instructions carefully and make sure they are exactly what you need before investing is all I’m saying.

The most popular Garden Plants

Flowers have always been a special way to send and receive a message, or surprise a loved one. They are available at florists everywhere and can be purchased quite easily, even ordered via the internet and telephone. However, some of us like to grow our own in our gardens at home. Garden Plants come in all shapes and sizes, and there are hundreds of different varities available. There are so many plant species that it would take me weeks if non months to write about them all. Rather than getting too technical, I will tell you about the most popular types of garden plants as well as the types of plants you can chose to keep your backyard and garden looking pretty throughout the season.

There are plants that are referred to as Annuals, they are said to flower only 3 to 4 months and are raised from the seed. Their lifecycle lasts only for one year, under which term they grow, drop seeds and perish. They look beautiful and make excellent liners along pathways and hedges.

Biennials take a little longer to mature, upwards of 2 years before a seed will turn fruit or display its flower and then pass away. You really have to keep re-planting seeds year after year if you want to have uninterrupted display of blooms, these are a little trickier than their yearly counterparts the Annuals.

Garden plans come in many different shapes, forms and sizes as I said, and Perennials are long lasting cousins of the others mentioned above. The benefits of these garden plants are that they don't need to be replanted year after year, in fact they tend to mature, then fade away, then come out again and love a great deal of sunshine!

There are also shrubs, ornamental trees, creepers, and climbers available for your garden, these plans each have their own special benefits that can really make your backyard shine with beauty. Of course, if they aren't used as intended they can make or break a backyard garden plant design too.

TRAVELLING AROUND EUROPE

About a year ago I looked into travelling around Europe on summer. Two friends and I decided to travel to Italy, then Greece and finish in Bulgaria. Although we never went ahead with it, it is still something we might do in the future.
The best part about the plan was that you could book and InterRail pass which could be used in multi countries. The ticket was tailored to how many days you would spend on the train. Also included were some ferry links and local train journeys.
The ticket price started around £300 and it also felt like a challenge to plan the whole trip. It was good idea if you can’t have a lot of time off to have a gap year.
Perhaps something on the cards for the future... who knows!

DUTCH INSPIRATION

I recently went away to Amsterdam for the weekend and have been inspired to buy a bike!
Amsterdam is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world and everywhere you looked there was at least a dozen of them!
My friend told me that there are an estimated one million bikes in Amsterdam, which is insane!
So, I have searched for a secondhand bicycle for sale and found this beauty, which hopefully you will see me on in London soon! Basket too!
