I’m writing todays post as a warning. A lot of people these days are opting to use special Rechargeable Batteries in place of the traditional disposable ones.
On paper this seems like an excellent decision, especially in these recession fuelled times but in reality there are many flaws with these kinds of brands. Namely the fact that, yes they are rechargeable and reusable but they actually have very short shelf lives if you are using them constantly. I have noticed that when I use these batteries I tend to use them full on throughout the day and then charge them through the night. Obvioulsy I am not naieve enough to think that this will not affect their lifespan but this is precisely my point. They are wrongly being marketed at professionals like myself who will use them and recharge them constantly. They should actually be aimed towards the common public and casual user.
I have noticed that the batteries tend to go dead after just several weeks and in some even more dangerous circumstances they have even started to leak or corrode. Damaging very expensive equipment and also putting me at risk. Read the instructions carefully and make sure they are exactly what you need before investing is all I’m saying.
